Who we are:
We are 17 years in missionary service today, and we want to review with gratitude all the wonderful things He has brought our way, and we ask you to honor Him with us for all His wonders. On 24 April 1994 we boarded a flight to Mauritius “Where He leads, He feeds, where He guides, He provides” The Lord is ever faithful and He provided wonderfully for us. He opened doors for us by touching the hearts of people of other religion.
One lady past her eighties was very thankful that they had shared the Gospel with her, and she wanted to know why she only then came to hear the good news about the redemption of Christ, when she had been living right next to the church all her life. We served for ten months in Mauritius and obtained our theological training during that time. When our work permits could not be renewed, we were very disappointed, but accepted it as the Lord's will, since He only used this means to train us – we had to return to South Africa to continue our service for Him there. ”The Living Word Ministries” was established in 1996, when Louis and Pastor Edwin began reaching out together. In the beginning Louis departed from Pretoria by himself to do the outreach. Later on, all went along on the campaigns.
The area he services is a high risk for malaria, and we did not want to expose the children at such a tender age. The Lord has guided and guarded us so wonderfully, for the past 17 years. He has kept us in good health and we therefore GIVE HIM GLORY. The outreaches went from strength to strength as each year the Lord gave us more and more people to share the gospel with. We now have six teams in three countries and last year Jesus trusted the teams with more than one million people, of which the majority invited Jesus into their lives. What we do:
The South African teams. For a fortnight each month the teams launch campaigns in the formerly Venda or Gazankulu areas in the Limpopo province. The representative organizes everything beforehand and as soon as the team arrives, accommodation as well as all twelve outreach terrains must be available. All the assemblies are held in the open air; subsequently they have to weather sunshine and rain.
However, the Lord supernaturally provides in every outreach. When we arrive there, we find that He had already provided in everything. On the first day of their arrival the team normally drives through the village and invites all the residents to that evening's service. The team prepares the equipment and the children’s' service is held before dawn. Then preaching follows, a film is shown about hell and the people are invited to surrender their lives to Christ. The second evening, the equipment is prepared on the same location and we immediately start the children’s' service. As soon as we start the proceedings, we invite two or three people to witness. Sometimes they can not wait to tell what the Lord has done for them the previous night. We preach again and a film about the life of Jesus is shown. Again people are given the opportunity to surrender their lives to Christ and each is given tracts to reinforce the impact of the message. The Lord gloriously provides us with these necessary tracts which we receive.
The AIDS training at schools work a little bit different. We organize with the nearby secondary schools, in the area where we will be staying, if we can teach the students about HIV and AIDS, the dangers of it and what God says about it. Most of the times we are warmly welcomed to make this very important impact in the lives of these young people. Sometime they are righting exams or they have to do very important work which will restrict us from entering into some schools. We start of by giving them a teaching on AIDS and what God says about sex and how to shift your focus to Jesus instead of lust. Afterwards we show a documentary on HIV, STI’s and Abstinence. We give them a change to give their lives to Jesus, in the class, and never lose control of themselves.

South Africa: There is an outreach every month for two weeks.
Mosambiek: There is an outreach occasionally every month.
Zimbabwe: There is an outreach every month.
